"message_text": "The LIGO Scientific Collaboration, the Virgo Collaboration, and the KAGRA Collaboration report:\n\nWe have conducted further analysis of the LIGO Hanford Observatory (H1) and LIGO Livingston Observatory (L1) data around the time of the compact binary merger (CBC) candidate S231001aq (GCN Circular 34785). Parameter estimation has been performed using Bilby [1] and a new sky map, Bilby.multiorder.fits,0, distributed via GCN Notice, is available for retrieval from the GraceDB event page:\n\nhttps://gracedb.ligo.org/superevents/S231001aq\n\nFor the Bilby.multiorder.fits,0 sky map, the 90% credible region is 3323 deg2. Pandey (ARIES) and B.-B. Zhang (NJU) on behalf of a larger collaboration, report:\n\nFollowing the detection of AT 2023qxj by ZTF (Li et al. GCNC 34574), GIT (Swain et al. GCN 34576), and AKO (Odeh et al. GCN 34579) as the likely afterglow of Fermi GRB 230827B (Hamburg et al. GCN 34584), also detected in gamma-rays by VLUSAT-2 (Dafcikova et al. GCNC 34585), CALET (Tamura et al. GCNC 34593) and Globug/ISS (Kerr et al. GCNC 34604), we triggered the 10.4m Gran Telescopio de Canarias (GTC) equipped with Optical System for Imaging and low-Intermediate-Resolution Integrated Spectroscopy (OSIRIS) in La Palma (Spain), starting on Aug 29, 1 UT (~43 h after the Fermi trigger). Spectroscopy was obtained with both the R1000B (3x1200s) and R1000R (1x900s) grisms, covering the 363-1000 nm spectral range. A red continuum is noticeable, and the GTC spectrum clearly shows the Mg II doublet and Mg I absorption lines, implying a redshift of z=0.887, and thus confirming AT 2023qxj as the optical afterglow of GRB 230827B.\n\nWe thank the staff at GTC for their excellent support.\n\n\nView this GCN Circular online at https://gcn.nasa.gov/circulars/34789.",

Kennea (PSU), Tyler Parsotan (NASA GSFC) report:\n\nSwift/BAT did not localize GRB 231025A onboard (T0: 22023-10-25T06:46:59.59 UTC,Fermi GCN 34883).\n\nThe Fermi notice, distributed in near real-time, triggered the Swift Mission Operations Center operated Gamma-ray Urgent Archiver for Novel Opportunities (GUANO; Tohuvavohu et al. 2020, ApJ, 900, 1).\n\nUpon trigger by this notice, GUANO sent a command to the Swift Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) to save 200 seconds of BAT event-mode data from [-50,+150] seconds around the time of the burst. All the requested event mode data was delivered to the ground.\n\nThe BAT likelihood search, NITRATES (DeLaunay + Tohuvavohu 2022, ApJ, 941, 169), detects the burst with a sqrt(TS) of 10.1 in a 4.096 s analysis time bin, starting at T0 -4.0961 s.\n\nNITRATES results are consistent with a burst detected inside the BAT coded FOV, with a DeltaLLHOut of 13.17, and are consistent with Fermi GBM's localization (GCN 34883).\n\nSee Section 9.1 and Figures 10 and 17 in the NITRATES paper for brief descriptions and interpretation of sqrt(TS), DeltaLLHPeak, and DeltaLLHOut.\n\nGUANO is a fully autonomous, extremely low latency, spacecraft\ncommanding pipeline designed for targeted recovery of BAT event mode\ndata around the times of compelling astrophysical events to enable\nmore sensitive GRB searches.\n\nA live reporting of Swift/BAT event data recovered by GUANO can be\nfound at: https://www.swift.psu.edu/guano/\n\n\nView this GCN Circular online at https://gcn.nasa.gov/circulars/34884.",

Kennea (PSU) report:\n\nSwift/BAT was observing 85.5% of the GW localization probability (bayestar.multiorder.fits) at merger time. A fraction 36.5 % of the GW localization posterior is contained inside the BAT coded FoV.\n\nThe LVK notice, distributed in near real-time, triggered the Swift Mission Operations Center operated Gamma-ray Urgent Archiver for Novel Opportunities (GUANO; Tohuvavohu et al. 2020, ApJ, 900, 1).\n\nUpon trigger by this notice, GUANO sent a command to the Swift Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) to save 200 seconds of BAT event-mode data from [-50,+150] seconds around the time of the burst. All the requested event mode data was delivered to the ground.\n\nUsing the NITRATES analysis (DeLaunay + Tohuvavohu 2022, ApJ, 941, 169), we searched for emission on 8 timescales from 0.128s to 16.384s in the interval [-20,+20] seconds around the merger time. Kennea (PSU) report:\n\nSwift/BAT was observing >99% of the GW localization probability (Bilby.multiorder.fits) at merger time. A fraction 37% of the GW localization posterior is contained inside the BAT coded FoV.\n\nThe LVK notice, distributed in near real-time, triggered the Swift Mission Operations Center operated Gamma-ray Urgent Archiver for Novel Opportunities (GUANO; Tohuvavohu et al. 2020, ApJ, 900, 1).\n\nUpon trigger by this notice, GUANO sent a command to the Swift Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) to save 200 seconds of BAT event-mode data from [-50,+150] seconds around the time of the burst. "message_text": "The IceCube Collaboration (http://icecube.wisc.edu/) reports:\n\nOn 2023-10-04 at 14:39:41.18 UT IceCube detected a track-like event with a high probability of being of astrophysical origin.\nThe event was selected by the ICECUBE_Astrotrack_GOLD alert stream.\nThe average astrophysical neutrino purity for Gold alerts is 50%.\nThis alert has an estimated false alarm rate of 0.4490 events per year due to atmospheric backgrounds.\nThe IceCube detector was in a normal operating state at the time of detection.\n\nAfter the initial automated alert (https://gcn.gsfc.nasa.gov/notices_amon_g_b/138415_56188508.amon) more sophisticated reconstruction algorithms have been applied offline, with the direction refined to:\n\nDate: 2023-10-04\nTime: 14:39:41.18 UT\nRA: 143.79 (+1.10, -1.01 deg 90% PSF containment) J2000\nDec: -25.04 (+1.03, -1.21 deg 90% PSF containment) J2000\n\nWe encourage follow-up by ground and space-based instruments to help identify a possible astrophysical source for the candidate neutrino.\n\nThere are no Fermi 4FGL-DR4 or 3FHL catalog sources in the 90% uncertainty region of the event. The nearest gamma-ray source in either catalog is 4FGL J0927.2+2454 at RA: 141.82 deg, Dec: -24.90 deg (1.79 deg away from the best-fit alert position).\n\nThe IceCube Neutrino Observatory is a cubic-kilometer neutrino detector operating at the geographic South Pole, Antarctica. The IceCube realtime alert point of contact can be reached at roc@icecube.wisc.edu\n\n\n\nView this GCN Circular online at https://gcn.nasa.gov/circulars/34797.",

"message_text": "The LIGO Scientific Collaboration, the Virgo Collaboration, and the\nKAGRA Collaboration report:\n\nWe have conducted further analysis of the LIGO Hanford Observatory\n(H1) and LIGO Livingston Observatory (L1) data around the time of the\ncompact binary merger (CBC) candidate S231005ah (GCN Circular 34801). Parameter estimation has been\nperformed using Bilby [1] and a new sky map, Bilby.multiorder.fits,0,\ndistributed via GCN Notice, is available for retrieval from the\nGraceDB event page:\n\nhttps://gracedb.ligo.org/superevents/S231005ah\n\nFor the Bilby.multiorder.fits,0 sky map, the 90% credible region is\n2497 deg2. Bartolini (INFN Bari) on behalf of the Fermi-LAT collaboration:\n\n\nWe report an analysis of observations of the vicinity of the IC231004A high-energy neutrino event (GCN 34797, 34798) with all-sky survey data from the Large Area Telescope (LAT), on board the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope. The IceCube event was detected on 2023-10-04 at 14:39:41.18 UT UT (T0) with J2000 position RA = 143.79 (+1.10, -1.01) deg, Decl. = +25.04 (+1.03, -1.21) deg (90% PSF containment). No cataloged gamma-ray (>100 MeV; The Fermi-LAT collaboration 2022, ApJS, 260, 53) sources are located within the 90% IC231004A localization region.\n\n\nWe searched for intermediate (days to years) timescale emission from a new gamma-ray source. Preliminary analysis indicates no significant (> 5 sigma) new excess emission (> 100 MeV) at the IC231004A best-fit position. Assuming a power-law spectrum (photon index = 2.0 fixed) for a point source at the IC231004A best-fit position, the >100 MeV flux upper limit (95% confidence) is < 1.6e-10 ph cm^-2 s^-1 for ~15-years (2008-08-04 to 2023-10-04 UTC), and < 1.0e-8 (< 1.3e-7) ph cm^-2 s^-1 for a 1-month (1-day) integration time before T0.\n\n\nSince Fermi normally operates in an all-sky scanning mode, regular monitoring of this region will continue. For these observations the Fermi-LAT contact persons are S. Garrappa (simone.garrappa at weizmann.ac.il), J. Sinapius (jonas.sinapius at desy.de) and S. Buson (sara.buson at uni-wuerzburg.de).\n\n\nThe Fermi-LAT is a pair conversion telescope designed to cover the energy band from 20 MeV to greater than 300 GeV.
